Protesters across the country have become more sophisticated in the last six years, says University of Florida assistant professor of political science Michael Heaney.
More than a dozen groups have planned small- and large-scale protests throughout the DNC. Even a group of 60 evangelical churches is planning a "quiet demonstration" throughout the four-day event.
"Our commitment to robust free speech and assembly has never wavered," Mayor John Hickenlooper said.
