Two Pueblo men have been jailed in a bungled armored car robbery at a local Safeway.
The men are accused of using pepper-spray to subdue an armored truck guard.
Pueblo police identified the suspects as Juan Rodriques, 41, and Anthony Sena, 22, according to the Pueblo Chieftan. Both men are being held in Pueblo County Jail without chance of bail pending a court hearing.
The robbery occurred just after 9 a.m. in the parking lot of a Safeway at 617 W. 29th St.
The two men made off with the money, but were quickly apprehended nearby. The money was recovered, Deputy Police Chief John Ercul said told the Chieftan.
"It sounds like everything is fine," said Kris Staaf, spokeswoman for Safeway's regional office in Centennial.
"We're cooperating fully with the Pueblo Police Department," said Staaf, who declined to offer further details because it might interfere with the police investigation.
The store is located a few blocks from Interstate 25 and the Pueblo Country Club.
