Published January 26, 2009 at 12:05 a.m.

Arapahoe sheriff's deputies arrested a Deer Trail man Friday on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly rammed the vehicle of a couple who had reported him as driving recklessly on eastbound Interstate 70.

The incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. in the 57400 block of East County Road 34. The woman who reported the incident said she and her husband had been following a white U-Haul truck that had been weaving and trying to run other vehicles off the road.

The couple followed the truck to a driveway off the Byers exit, where the driver allegedly hit their car and asked, "Wanna play now?"

Deputies arrested Steven Fielder Wohlen, 50. He is being held on $50,000 bail on investigation of charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault and criminal mischief.
