I can't stop crying
Published February 27, 2009 at 3:29 p.m.
I cannot stop crying this morning; it will never be the same...I look forward to reading the Rocky and always have since I moved here from GA in 1980. I loved it's format, it's selection of columns, Gene Amole and all of it!! Why didn't someone with a foundation or or some wealthy someone buy this wonderful piece of Colorado instead of a another mountain home? I can't stop crying and I don't know what I will do but mourn and grieve some more. I am an English ed grad student at CSU in my early 50's; I have been a nurse for the past 25 years and wish that somehow this wonderful paper could continue. We have always carried a subscription (in both of my marriages!) and when I didn't work on Saturday, would have the leisure time to sit and read the paper and share stories and comics. (There is precious little leisure time anymore). Now we are stuck with the poorly written local paper (Coloradoan) and I refuse to subscribe to the POST...that is the paper that should have been ushered out...NOT the Rocky Mountain News.
I am so sorry for your loss-for all the staff members...your loss is greater than ours, but we all share in it.
