Blue mustang at DIA just plain ugly

Re; “Perplexed by hatred of ‘Mustang’,” Feb 14, 2009.

Charlie Brown calls ‘Mustang’ artistic and a reminder to visitors that they are in the West. Probably arrivals at DIA aren’t so ignorant on either count. Mr. Brown writes that “riveting public art is supposed to...generate debate.” Can’t it just be attractive? And/or riveting because it’s skillful and attractive? In simple answer to Mr. Brown’s perplexity as to the hatred of ‘Mustang’—-it’s because it’s ugly. Scrapping, or returning to sender, would also permit replacing it with a native or current Coloradan’s or Denverite’s work. Thanks.
