ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor says he wants Kevin McHale to return as coach next season.
Taylor told the St. Paul Pioneer Press he'd like to keep McHale on the bench, and he doesn't see him going back to his former role as vice president of basketball operations. Taylor says he thinks McHale enjoys working with the players.
McHale said before Wednesday night's game against the Utah Jazz that he'd worry about next year later.
McHale is 14-24 since he replaced the fired Randy Wittman in December. The Wolves lost their first eight games after McHale took over, but he was Western Conference coach of the month in January after he led the Wolves to a 10-4 record. The Wolves have struggled since losing star center Al Jefferson to a knee injury.
