Social Security and Medicare are not welfare

I am tired of hearing politicians talk about Social Security and Medicare as entitlements as though they were welfare. Yes we are entitled to these benefits because we paid for them.

If the local and Federal Governments would keep their hands off the money paid into programs such as the Workers Comp. Social Security, the Aviation fund (to improve Air Traffic Safety) we wouldn’t have a shortage now.

Remember when Al Gore said we should put Social Security in a lock box.

Politicians say that we have a shortage in Social Security Funds because baby boomers have grown up, retired and drawing S.S. now..well, the population has increased considerably, which means more people are paying in.

Also Social Security and Medicare shouldn’t be used to pay for MEDICAID, UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS OR TO ANYONE WHO HAS NOT PAID INTO THE PLAN, THROUGH THEIR OWN OR SPOUSES CONTRIBUTIONS..
