The Civic Center Conservancy on Wednesday named mayoral senior adviser Lindy Eichenbaum Lent its new executive director.
The organization was founded in 2004 to help raise money for improvements to Civic Center as well as to offer programming in one of the few open spaces in downtown Denver.
During her time in city government, Lent had served as an ex officio member of the conservancy board.
In 2007, she was a senior adviser to Mayor John Hickenlooper, with a focus on strategic communications and special projects, and last year, she was the city's director of communications during the Democratic National Convention. She had worked as communications director during Hickenlooper's 2003 mayoral campaign and as communications director during his first term.
Lent earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Stanford University and a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
