CU women fall at No. 25 Iowa State 76-63

Cyclones hit 24 straight free-throw attempts

AMES, Iowa — Kelsey Bolte scored 23 points and Alison Lacey added 20 as No. 25 Iowa State beat Colorado 76-63 on Wednesday night.

Nicky Wieben also had 19 points for the Cyclones (20-7, 8-5 Big 12), who used a 24-5 advantage from the foul line to secure the win.

Kara Richards had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Kelly Jo Mullaney added 20 points for Colorado (11-14, 3-10).

Iowa State hit its first 24 free throws before missing its last two to finish 24-for-26 from the line with Lacey going 10-for-10. Colorado made 5-of-7 free throws.

Bolte made five of the Cyclones’ 10 three-pointers and grabbed nine rebounds.

The Buffaloes led by one early in the game, but Iowa State took a 36-31 lead at the break and extended it to as many as 23 points late in the game.
