Fort Collins native Jon Cooper had a little different goal than most players headed to the combine.
"Mainly just gaining weight," said Cooper, who just finished his career at Oklahoma.
Cooper, who weighed in at 292 pounds, said scouts had expressed concern about his weight when he was at the East- West Shrine Game last month. Cooper weighed 275 there after dropping to as low as 250 in the last month of the season.
"I got real sick in November, I had strep throat and some sort of stomach parasite, so I played a lot of games at about 250," Cooper said. "I've gotten my weight back up now."
Cooper, who prepared for the combine at a training facility in Los Angeles, still did not miss a game last season.
