Dining briefs: A double dose of Denver Restaurant Week
Published February 19, 2009 at 7 p.m.
Get to your phone or computer and start making those reservations: More than 120 restaurants participating in the official Denver Restaurant Week, slated for Saturday through Feb. 27, are extending their unbeatable deals for a second consecutive week, lasting through March 6.
This is fantastic news for those of you who tried to secure reservations (and subsequently failed) at Denver's top dining dens during the first seven days of Restaurant Week.
The deal remains the same: For $52.80 per couple - or $26.40 if you're flying solo - you can nosh on multicourse meals, some of which even include alcoholic libations. Restaurants participating in the second week of the Denver dining celebration are listed on visitdenver.com, but the short list of notables includes: Restaurant Kevin Taylor (1106 14th St.); Sullivan's Steakhouse (1745 Wazee St.); duo (2413 W. 32nd Ave.); Venue (3609 W. 32nd Ave.); Vesta Dipping Grill (1822 Blake St.); Bistro Vendome (1416 Larimer St.); Elway's Downtown (1881 Curtis St.) and Elway's Cherry Creek (2500 E. First Ave.); Highland's Garden Cafe (3927 W. 32nd Ave.); Tamayo (1400 Larimer St.); India's Pearl (1475 S. Pearl St.); Nine75 (975 Lincoln St.); The Oceanaire Seafood Room (1400 Arapahoe St.); Panzano (909 17th St.); and The Palm (1672 Lawrence St.).
"There was a lot of interest from diners who couldn't get reservations during the first week of Restaurant Week, and considering the state of the economy, we thought why not give restaurants the opportunity to extend Denver Restaurant Week for another seven days," explains Rich Grant, director of communications of Visit Denver, the convention and visitors bureau that initially launched Denver Restaurant Week back in 2005.
There's speculation that some restaurants will even extend the $52.80 deal further into the month of March. Stay tuned.
