Former U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard, who retired in January after 18 years in Congress, is going to work for a Washington consulting firm.
The Loveland Republican has joined The Livingston Group and will concentrate on business development and governmental affairs.
As part of the deal, Allard also has formed his own consulting firm and will partner with Livingston based on his clients' needs.
Allard will split his time between Colorado and Washington, said Steve Wymer, who was Allard's Senate spokesman.
Allard's hiring will be announced today.
"Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle appreciate his genuine, quiet and effective style," TLG partner Bob Livingston said in a news release.
Allard served three terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate before keeping his term-limit pledge and retiring.
Allard said he was excited to join Livingston. "I look forward to a long-term relationship."
Allard wants to work with government agencies in finding efficiencies. Allard was known for that in the Senate, Wymer said.
