Schenkein co-owner Clark will step down

Published November 20, 2008 at 12:05 a.m.

Leanna Clark, the co-owner of Denver-based Schenkein, on Wednesday said she will be stepping down from a day-to-day involvement with the public relations firm at the end of January.

After Jan. 31, she said, she will serve the agency and its clients as a strategic adviser in an "of counsel" role.

She said she plans to spend more time on community work, especially on Project C.U.R.E., an international nonprofit based in Denver that delivers medical supplies and equipment to developing countries around the world.

Clark said she will be selling her shares in the privately held company back to the agency.

Her departure as an owner is not because of the poor economy, she said.

"This has been on my mind for the last year," she said. "It was just time, and I was ready to have a new challenge. I loved working with the agency and I loved running a small business. I am sure it will continue to prosper after my departure."
