Hey DJ: DJ Meridian
Published November 20, 2008 at 2:54 p.m.
DJ Meridian spins industrial house, electronica and synth-pop, and his favorite drink is a Meyers Dark Rum and Coke. "Can't do Jack any more," he said. We share that tidbit so you can buy him one Saturday at Moe's Original Bar-B-Que and Bowling (formerly The Falcon, next to the Gothic Theater at 3295 S. Broadway), where he'll spin with Dimension Zero, Die Brucke and Pseudokiss Masochist. Doors open at 8 p.m., cover is $7, and, friends, we implore that you be older than 16 if you attempt entry. Right now, these are his three favorite cuts:
* Zombie Girl - Trioxin
"A great song, with a slower beat, but enough going on in it that it makes you want to get out there and dance. The way it's orchestrated is great, it's layered very well. I will be playing them at the show."
* SAM - Catatonic Dreams
"The way the layers are brought together makes them play off each other to produce some good effects."
* Soman - Divine
"It definitely has an aggressive industrial beat without being over the top."
