Colorado casinos took another hit last month, with statewide revenues dropping 14.5 percent from a year ago to $56.3 million.

Black Hawk posted the biggest October decline, with proceeds dropping 16.85 percent to roughly $39.4 million, according to monthly data released by Colorado's gaming division.

In Cripple Creek, revenues fell almost 5.5 percent to $11.6 million. Central City generated $5.2 million in proceeds, a drop of 14.4 percent.

The state's gaming industry has posted a string of losses this year.

Colorado voters passed a ballot initiative this month that could boost the fortunes of the struggling sector.

The amendment allows each of the towns to hold elections to decide whether to raise betting limits and expand games and hours.
