Ways to Cool Down from the Electoral Hurly-burly

Last week, we clued you in to various hot spots where you could get your election-night party on, and you, you crazy newspaper loyalists, did exactly that. But what now? How to recover from the last year and a half of chatter, advertising and partisan bickering? By mellowing out, that's how.

1 Settle into one of the tiny "snug" rooms in the Irish Snug (1201 E. Colfax Ave., No. 100) and enjoy a pint of Guinness or three all by yourself.

2 Breathe. Just breathe. And stay away from the Drudge Report and Huffington Post for a few weeks.

3 After you've done your breathing, grab a burger and a Manhattan at Steuben's (523 E. 17th Ave.). Nothing loosens those neck muscles like bourbon.

4 Grab a book and settle in on the patio at Cafe Cero (1446 S. Broadway) with a glass of red wine.

5 Take a trip to the glorious Colorado mountains, admire nature's palette - if you're from Back East, mention that it doesn't have anything on New Hampshire this time of year - and finish the day with a trade whiskey at The Fort (19192 Colorado 8, Morrison).
