TV WATCH: July 22

Canadian singer Leslie Feist will appear on the Aug. 11 season premiere of Sesame Street, performing a modified version of her ubiquitous hit song 1234. By doing so she joins a long list of notable artists who have lent their lyrics to the popular children's show. A video of the singer appeared on YouTube recently in which she was accompanied by a posse of Muppets, including four monsters, penguins and chickens. Other celebs due to stroll the street this season include soccer star David Beckham, Project Runway's Heidi Klum and Jack Black of Kung Fu Panda.

40 seems to be the magic age for Emmy Award nominations. At 24, Ugly Betty star America Ferrera was the only female in her 20s to earn a nomination (lead actress in a comedy series). Rachel Griffiths, 39, was nominated for her work on Brothers and Sisters (supporting actress). The Closer star Kyra Sedgwick is 42 (lead actress in a drama series). Others: Laura Linney, 44, who played Abigail Adams in HBO's John Adams (lead actress in a miniseries or movie); Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 47, The New Adventures of Old Christine (lead actress in a comedy series); and Anjelica Huston, 57, for her role in Medium (guest actress in a drama series).

Marc Cherry , creator and executive producer of ABC's Desperate Housewives, telling the Associated Press he plans to end the series after two more seasons.
