What we're doing this weekend, Roman Only

Local frontman Roman Only is a busy fellow. When he's not playing out as a solo act, he's heading a whole other band, Elete, specializing in enamel-busting industrial rock. Like many young musicians, he spends a lot of time indoors, growing orchids and collecting Hummel figurines . . . you aren't buying that for a second, are you? Here's some typical weekending in the world of Roman Only:

* What did you do last weekend?

"Friday night, I hooked up with Elete. We rolled downtown and met Saved by Ruin front-girl Angelique at our favorite spot, Red Square, just off the 16th Street Mall, for some custom-flavored vodkas. We did some hard-core promoting with everyone we met! With a healthy buzz, we headed a few blocks over to Two Fisted Mario's for the bombest drunk pizza in town. I love 'Transylvanian Garlic,' by the way! Saturday was pretty laid-back, pulled a solo rehearsal for my upcoming show, baked a cake with Angelique, who I introduced to The Big Lebowski. Sunday was Elete rehearsal; my guys really outshined themselves, and I'm not easily impressed. It was a busy weekend of fun and preparation."

* What's going on this weekend?

"Tonight I'll be performing as Roman Only at the Gothic Theatre (16 and up, $7 cover, $2 off with flier before 9:30, doors 7 p.m.), alongside the 303 Boyz and Hypnautic, everyone front and center while I show you how the Undead do it! I actually plan to go to the Gothic on Saturday as well to check out Saved by Ruin and have some Jagermeister fun! Sunday night I'll be performing with Elete at Three Kings Tavern (21 and up, $5, 8 p.m.). Also on the lineup: AnaDies and Ikonoklast. This will be a killer rock show; hit us up and let the good times roll!"
