Scouting report: San Diego Padres

* Series history: The Rockies lead 121-116 but are 59-64 in San Diego, including 22-21 at Petco Park. The teams have split 12 games this year, including going 3-3 at Petco Park.
* Roster report: Right-handed pitcher Chris Young (strained right forearm) is expected to be activated from the disabled list to start Sunday. Also on the disabled list are right-handers Mark Prior (right shoulder strain) and Tim Stauffer (right shoulder Strain), left-hander Shawn Estes (fractured left thumb), catcher Michael Barrett (fractured nose) and shortstop Khalil Greene (left hand fracture). Outfielder Scott Hairston is expected to be added to the disabled list today with a fractured left thumb. Right-handers Bryan Corey and Josh Banks were optioned to Triple-A Portland (Ore.) on Wednesday.
* Quickly: The Padres snapped a six-game losing streak with a three-game sweep of National League West-leading Arizona at Petco Park this week. It was their first series victory at home since they took two of three from the Dodgers from June 10-12. . . . Right fielder Brian Giles is 12-for-27 with five RBI and six walks in an eight-game hitting streak. . . . Right-hander Dirk Hayhurst is one of nine Padres players to make a major league debut this season. . . . The Padres bullpen has allowed three earned runs in 321/3 innings the past 10 games at Petco Park. . . . First baseman Adrian Gonzalez has appeared in all 133 games, starting 130. . . . Infielder Luis Rodriguez is 11-for-25 in a six-game hitting streak. He has received primary playing time at shortstop with Greene sidelined.
