Democrats chose to leave

As most Coloradans know, it has become a struggle to balance the family budget, what with the recent (foreseeable) rise in energy prices. Every person who has served as a member of the US Congress and Senate since 1980 is directly responsible for this energy crisis and current serving members should be censured for dereliction of duty. On July 31, 2008 the Congress voted to go on vacation rather than stay in Washington and try to hammer out some effective legislation that might offer some relief to the average American. On August 1, 2008 the Senate followed suit and voted to go on vacation.

Most noteworthy of this embarrassing abandonment of the citizens of Colorado is the partisanship of this action.

Not one of our elected democrats voted to stick around and do something to help the people they serve. On the other hand, with the exception of no show Tom Tancredo, all of our republican representatives voted to stay in Washington to try to get some relief for their constituents.

Apparently the democratic led Congress and Senate are more concerned with renaming some post office buildings and give themselves a raise than with the very real problems this nation faces. The bottom line is that this incarnation of the democratic party can not lead. I will be voting against the democrats this election cycle and I hope you will to.
