The show: Track finals include the women's 400-meter hurdles and the men's 200-meter, in which Jamaica's Usain Bolt is a strong threat to U.S. hopes for gold. Also: gymnastics (gala exhibition), women's beach volleyball (final) and cycling (BMX finals).
Thursday

The show: A new reality series lets viewers see student life through administrators' eyes. Two half-hour episodes visit principals who display distinctive styles and who face surprising challenges. In one episode, a New Jersey high school student lands in trouble for Photoshopping unflattering pictures of his principal.

Olympics

The show: U.S. sprinters are expected to be medal contenders in both the men's and women's 4-by- 100-meter relays. Other track-and- field events include men's pole vault and decathlon (Day Two) and women's long jump and 5,000- meter run. Also: semifinals in men's platform diving.

Dear Prudence

The show: A workaholic advice guru (Jane Seymour) becomes involved in a murder investigation during her vacation at a Wyoming lodge. Meanwhile, she meets two new suitors, but one may have something to hide. Jamey Sheridan, Ryan Cartwright and Rob Stewart co-star.
Sunday
Olympics: volleyball, closing ceremony

The show: OK, you could watch the Ice Road Truckers episode called The Big Thaw, but we know what happens there, don't we? Instead, catch the men's volleyball final and the closing ceremony. It's true, we kind of know what the Olympics ending will be, too, but with international sports, there's always some mystery.
