* The story: The bitter and alcoholic Henry Poole receives a lot of unwanted attention - and visitors - when the image of God appears in a water stain on the bad stucco job covering the exterior of his house. But even Henry soon has to acknowledge the power of faith as neighbors experience miracles of varying degrees simply by touching the stain.

* What the critics said: "The movie is a little static at times. It seldom leaves the neighborhood, and the story progresses only in small degrees through these incidents," wrote Kirk Honeycutt of The Hollywood Reporter. "Overall, the film lacks dramatic heft."
