A new CW series has a familiar name: 90210. The spinoff of Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars Jessica Stroup and Shenae Grimes. The series is co-produced by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah of the teen series Freaks and Geeks and Life as We Know It, so don't expect an exact replica of the original.

SEACREST IN

New Year's Eve gets a new name this year . . . sort of: Starting this December, Dick Clark's longtime end-of-year special will be called Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest. ABC and dick clark productions also told the Associated Press that Seacrest will serve as co-host with Clark and as an executive producer on the broadcast for another three years, through the 2010 show ringing in 2011.

Sci Fi Channel has announced an all-new Battlestar Galactica special event, set to air in 2009 following the conclusion of the series. It will be released on DVD by Universal Studios Home Entertainment shortly thereafter.

The two-hour tale unfolds before the events of the miniseries. The final 10 episodes of the series will begin airing early next year.
