Godette, Lowery fuel Denver past North Texas

Doherty High School graduate Alisha Godette scored 20 points and senior guard Tyesha Lowery added 17 points to power the University of Denver women's basketball team to a 72-63 victory Thursday against North Texas at Magness Arena.

"While it wasn't our best performance of the season, we were able to counter all the North Texas runs with small runs of our own to keep the lead comfortable," DU coach Pam Tanner said.

Lowery had 10 assists and Godette added seven rebounds for the Pioneers. Brittany James scored a career-high 27 points for North Texas (7-17, 4-10).
