Denver Inc.: Ex-Bronco sharing new high on health

Published February 17, 2007 at midnight

Odds were that the highlight of Mark Jackson's career was when he caught the game-tying pass in "The Drive." But the former Denver Bronco receiver this week revealed that catching that pass from John Elway wasn't the pinnacle after all.

Jackson, one of the Broncos' "Three Amigos," is now a distributor for Denver-based XELR8 Holdings, which provides "foods, beverages and nutritional supplements."

When asked to comment on XELR8's newest product, a nutritional drink called Bazi, Jackson enthused: "Never before - not in my professional sports career or during my tenure in the mortgage industry - have I more enjoyed going to work. I am committed to sharing the many health and wealth benefits made possible by -XELR8."

Shopping group puts on the dog

At their gathering in downtown Littleton earlier this month, the Original Shopping Districts did it up in high camp.

Organizers of the group aim to raise the profile of some of the metro area's smaller historic shopping districts - specifically, Historic Downtown Littleton Merchants, Old South Gaylord Merchants Association, Historic Olde Town Arvada and Old South Pearl Street Association - through collective marketing efforts. And humor. They donned sequined gowns, sipped fizzy faux champagne (it was 8 a.m. on a Wednesday, after all) and listened to a little Dr. Seuss.

And OSD President Ruth Graham even offered a peek into the group's inner workings.

"In the bylaws it says that in the event of a tie, we break the tie with Rock, Paper, Scissors."
